Tweek-eek

Sustainable Jewelry from Factory Waste

Tweek-Eek, founded by twin sisters Roos and Geertje Eek, is an innovative jewelry brand focused on sustainability and material reuse. The jewelry is made from leftover materials from large industrial companies, primarily brass. By cleverly utilizing existing production methods and machines, they transform factory waste into unique and high-quality jewelry.

From Scrap Material to NoLeftovers
The NoLeftovers collection exemplifies the philosophy behind Tweek-Eek. The production process utilizes 100 percent of the remaining metal sheets, ensuring that no waste is left behind. The designs emerge through experimentation with patterns and materials such as sandpaper, metal, and fabric, which are pressed into the jewelry pieces. A 24-karat gold coating provides a luxurious finish without compromising sustainability.

A Unique Production Method
What sets Tweek-Eek apart is the use of large-scale industrial machines for jewelry production. In the metal workshop of their father, designer Piet Hein Eek, Roos and Geertje work with heavy machinery that is not typically used in the jewelry industry. This results in robust and durable pieces with a long lifespan.

Sustainability as a Core Value
For Tweek-Eek, sustainability is not a trend but a necessity. The sisters believe that raw materials are finite and that reuse is the future. By collaborating with large companies that aim to reduce waste, they demonstrate how circular design can be implemented in practice. Their upbringing played a crucial role in shaping their perspective—having grown up with the value of reuse, they consider their childhood as their education.

Craftsmanship and Technology Hand in Hand
Within Tweek-Eek, Roos and Geertje have their own specializations: Roos is skilled with machines and the production process, while Geertje focuses on digital techniques and design software. Together, they form a perfect team that combines traditional and modern methods.

More Than Just a Jewelry Brand
Tweek-Eek is not only about unique jewelry but also about a conscious approach to entrepreneurship. The sisters strive to create products that last and are not produced under poor working conditions. They focus on quality rather than mass production and disposable culture.
